Buller Hospital Project Update 3

Week Ending 13.06.25

Our Westport-based team continue to produce high quality results on the Buller Hospital project. Our Westport based asbestos team have successfully achieved clearance on 80% of the buildings, including the X-Ray building, kitchen, administration building, and Foote ward, along with the contaminated underground service tunnel network in these areas.

Our asbestos crew have completed 90% of the work in the Dunsford ward. This building has involved the removal of all cabling and service pipes from the underground tunnel network, asbestos removal from the ceiling space, and Super 12 roof removal.

We continue to operate with a split-crew system with a dedicated asbestos team in the physio building, preparing for the Class A and B asbestos removals. Our systematic approach has ensured seamless clearance processes and maintained project momentum throughout.

Following behind our asbestos team is our experienced operator Glenn, who is managing the demolition works. Glenn has safely and effectively demolished the laundry building, garage, X-Ray building, kitchen, administration building, and Foote ward while maintaining minimal disruption to the operational hospital environment.

On all our projects, we are committed to minimising waste and maximising material reuse wherever possible. Glenn has carefully separated materials that can be reused or recycled to divert as much waste as possible from landfill.

The project showcases our team’s ability to deliver comprehensive asbestos removal and demolition works across multiple buildings, while maintaining the highest safety standards in a sensitive healthcare environment.

Special thanks to the onsite team – you’re making it happen.
